This image shows a posed portrait of Neil Young wearing an Elvis Presley T-Shirt at the Amstel Hotel in December 1989. The seemingly musical extremes of Johnny Rotten and Elvis Presley were linked by Young in his 1979 song “Hey Hey, My My”, but considering Elvis was once regarded as a dangerous influence and later hailed as an icon, the linking of Rotten, Presley and Young isn’t so strange. All three have been credited with smashing the boundaries of rock 'n' roll.
