Columbia Records was founded in 1888, and is the oldest brand name in pre-recorded sound being the first record company to produce pre-recorded records as opposed to blank cylinders. They introduced “black wax” records in 1903, “double-sided” discs in 1908 and most famously in 1948 the LP, which was to revolutionise the way people listened to music for 40 years. The famous “magic notes” logo has been used throughout and is still recognised today. Made in collaboration with Sony Records.
