This image shows the then Cassius Clay photographed in 1964 , in training for his fight with Sonny Liston which, brought both fame and the heavyweight world title after a knockout victory in the 7th round. It was in the build up to this bout that Ali coined the phrase 'float like a butterfly and sting like a bee' and shortly after that he announced his conversion to Islam, renouncing his old 'slave name' Cassius Clay to become Mohammed Ali.
