You win some, lose some, all the same to me. Taken from the band's best-known track, 'The Ace of Spades', this lyric sums up the sentiment of the song as a whole. Front man Lemmy describes its gambling references as metaphors for the trials of life. Released in 1980 it charted at number 15 and Lemmy and the band's status as rock royalty was assured. The song has been used numerous times since, from ads for IKEA, Walkers and Pot Noodle, to BBC's Top Gear, The Young Ones and Men Behaving Badly.
